T. Belcher, PhD, LPC-S, NCC

T’Airra Belcher, PhD, LPC-S is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Louisiana and Virginia, providing private practice counseling for adults seeking thoughtful, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. Her work supports individuals navigating chronic stress, identity exploration, life transitions, and the emotional and psychological impact of personal and systemic adversity.

Her therapeutic approach is relational and collaborative, grounded in evidence-based practice and informed by liberation psychology and contemplative practices. She attends not only to individual experiences of distress, but also to the social, cultural, and structural contexts that shape mental health. Counseling emphasizes empowerment, meaning-making, and the development of sustainable coping strategies that align with clients’ values and lived realities.

As part of her trauma-informed practice, she offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)–informed services to support clients in processing distressing memories and experiences that may continue to affect present-day functioning. EMDR services are integrated thoughtfully and collaboratively, with attention to safety, pacing, and readiness, and are used alongside strengths-based and culturally responsive interventions.

Contemplative practices—such as mindfulness, reflection, and somatic awareness—are incorporated to support emotional regulation, insight, and deeper connection to self. Care is intentionally paced and individualized, with respect for each client’s goals, cultural context, and capacity for change.

In addition to clinical counseling, T’Airra is an LPC Supervisor, supporting counselors-in-training and early-career clinicians in developing ethical, reflective, and culturally responsive practice. Her broader professional work includes counselor education, program development, and community engagement focused on access to care, advocacy, and collective wellness.
