  • I use liberatory and trauma-informed practices to understand the root causes of your symptoms rather than focusing only on coping skills. While coping skills are important, they are most effective when we also explore how your lived experiences, relationships, identities, and environments have shaped what you’re carrying. Together, we assess the full impact of your experiences to develop a meaningful, culturally aligned toolkit that supports healing, agency, and long-term well-being.

    • Liberatory psychology is an approach that recognizes how systems such as racism, sexism, classism, and other forms of oppression can affect mental health. Instead of viewing distress as a personal failure, this framework centers your lived experience, validates survival responses, and supports healing through awareness, empowerment, and connection to your strengths and values.

    • Trauma-informed care is a framework that acknowledges how past and ongoing trauma—whether individual, relational, or systemic—can impact emotions, behaviors, and the nervous system. This approach prioritizes safety, trust, collaboration, and choice, and avoids pathologizing responses that once helped you survive. The goal is to create a supportive space where healing can occur at your pace.
